DJ Shuggy

Always a lover of music.  Even back in his old school days he would sit in the bed room listening and mixing music when all the other kids were out playing, he had the DJ blood.

That was back in the late 1970s.  Since then nothing has changed.  Ever eager to get up there and entertain a crowd.

DJ Shuggy will give any age group a fantastic nights entertainment and is also a fantastic Karaoke host.  read the web site feedback pages and look at the video clips of his discos.

How do I pick my DJ..?

It's hard to pick a DJ that you don't know or has not been recommended to you, you really have to do your homework.  If you are looking at a web site, don't take their word that they are good. Follow up the testimonials and make sure they are not made up by the DJs web designer.  It has been known to be done before.  Ask if you can attend a venue and see the DJ at another party, any DJ worth their salt will try and accommodate you with that request.  When talking to a DJ on the phone the DJ should be chatty and helpful.  If you feel the proposed person is shy or un-talkative then think what it will be like at your venue making announcements.

When arranging a wedding or similar family event the DJ is usually the cheapest thing you will need to hire. Yes, the wedding cake will probably cost a lot more than what your DJ will quote, and yet, hiring the right person for your reception party will probably turn out to be the most important decision you will have to make.

If you make the wrong choice you will regret it, and everyone who comes along to your party will probably remember your night for the wrong reasons.  Another point worth considering, if you do hire a DJ that boasts really cheap rate's is that they may not have insurance in place should there be a problem. They may also use basic or inferior sound equipment, probably not carry the right music, and will most likely not be registered with the taxman.  Worst still they might be refused entry by the venue staff, or not even turn up! So your night could cost you a lot more in the long run, and your night of fun could end up being quite the opposite.

A quality DJ will look at the venue quests and experience will tell what music will get the dance floor moving. Contrary a poor DJ will only tend to play the music they like themselves thinking they are going to educate you and your guests with the latest in scene, and not what really gets a dance floor going.

Golden rule No1:- Get a contract from your DJ. This is a written confirmation that the DJ is booked for your party. This sets the start and end times, musical choices, DJ's dress code and agreed fee for the services supplied.

Ask to see the DJ's insurance, PAT testing certificates and if using digital equipment their ProDub Licence. If there is any quaver on this, move on.

WARNING…. Do not book a DJ simply on the basis he or she is low priced. It has been quoted time and time again, a good DJ is the one thing that can make or break your night.
