Now you all know me as a wedding entertainer….. YES
Well when a lovely voice came on the phone and asked if I could do the disco and supply a couple of PA systems for through the day as well at a corporate event, I thought… I have the equipment and I did it in the past so why not…!!
On Thursday 7th July 2011 representatives from Halarose Limited showed presentations of their newly updated software program to their clients. They spent the day explaining all the new features that they had made in their database system calling it a day at 5.00pm. Everyone retired to freshen up and back down for dinner for 7.30pm, after which I started the disco.
Knowing that my audience was not couples and that they came from all over the UK I was apprehensive on how the evening would go, but everyone seemed to gel and prove to be in the mood for a good night out, the floor was full right up to midnight…. I was worried about nothing apparently.
Next morning it was back on site again setting up a PA in the hall again for a half day session discussing the database again.. All done by 12.00pm and stopped for lunch then home.
All the management gave me positive feedback when done, and I bid them goodbye,
Where you there..? If so why not leave a message on this post for others to see..?
Linda and Neil Findlay celebrated their wedding day on the 2nd July 2011 in a marquee set in the beautiful grounds of Holmwood House in Cathcart, Glasgow.
The day was perfect, nice and warm with a slight overcast which really helps the wedding photographs, i.e. no nasty shadows to worry about. I arrived about 5.30pm and set up the wedding disco in one section of the marquee while the happy couple and their guests enjoyed a fabulous meal in a separate section, this helped the flow of the day tremendously.
Once set up I played background music till they were ready for the formal part of the wedding reception. The couple cut their wedding cake and we proceeded right in to the first dance. The first dance kicked off about 8.40pm, a little later than normal but the couple wanted to wait till some important quests had arrived and it was still very bright outside too. After that it was dancing till midnight, then drink up and get on the bus to take you home.
Everyone appeared to have a good time and Linda and Neil said they had a great day.
Were you there..?
If so why don’t you leave a message for Linda and Neil to see when they get back from their honeymoon?
Lynne and Steven Kerr’s Wedding Reception Disco was held at the Rutherglen Town Hall in the lesser hall downstairs on the 30th June 2011. It was a small intimate wedding reception with only close family and friends in attendance, however a good night was had by all.
The disco was supplied by DJ Shuggy and since there were people attending who suffer from epilepsy he had to have lighting affests that changed colour gradually and moved slowly so that no one was going to feel unwell on the night. It worked out perfect and everyone was happy with what was supplied on the night.
Were you there..??
If so please feel free to leave some feedback for Lynne and Steven to read when they return from their week in Spain.
It was yet another day of sunshine and showers, but I managed to get in to set up in the morning and got the equipment in while it was dry, just as well because it was raining quite heavy shortly afterwards.. I was supplying the entertainment for a wedding in the conference hall through the back for Jacqui and Kevin Smyth who just happen to live round the corner from me. Lovely couple..
There was another wedding on that day too, in the main hall so it was a busy day for the hotel staff but they coped admirably. The hall was seated to the MAX.. with very little room for getting by, but they got on with what they had.. They had hired in a lovely white LED star dance floor from another supplier and with my DJ booth in front of it, it really did look smart. The night kicked of “first dance” with ‘Because you loved me’ by Celine Dion, the bride and groom were announced into the hall and half way through the rest of the wedding party joined them. This set the dance floor for the rest of the night.. i.e happy dancers having fun.
On behalf of Quality Discos I would like to thank Jacqui and Kevin for booking our services and wish you both every success in your future together.
If you were at the party why don’t you leave some feedback for Jacqui and Kevin, I’m sure they will appreciate it.
Well what a day that was… Sun, Rain, Sun again, then rain all night… Well we have to look on the bright side it was a whole lotta luck falling for the bride and groom..!!! Shame the photos had to be done indoors, if only the rain would have let up for an hour, but it wasn’t to be..!!
It was Laura and Mark Dobson’s Wedding reception and although there was only about 100 guests the venue opened up the whole hall that could easily have seated 300. Initially it looked good with everyone having plenty of elbow room to eat, until it got to the dancing bit…. Everyone was too spread out to create an atmosphere of a full dance floor, pity that.. But Laura and Mark said they had a great time and they received good feedback from their guests and that’s what it was all about.
Laura and Mark are MENTAL Ranger fans, and Laura turned up in a blue wedding dress. I had to joke with her, "Where is it" she presented me her hand to look at the ring.. NO.. I said i’m looking for the Ranger FC badge on the dress…LOL Both of them were well up for a laugh and I wish both of them every happiness in their future.
Were you there that night…?
If so drop your comments below.. I look forward to hearing from you…..
Aimee and Garry Lees’s Wedding reception that was held on the grounds of Murthly Castle in Perthshire on the 4th August 2012.
The wedding reception was held in a marquee on the grounds of Murthly Castle. I must say it was very professionally set up and toilets were convenient and clean even though it was a mobile unit.!
The night got off to a great start, after the formal dances everyone was out to party. The night was even gate crashed by some form of Bird..?? You have to see the pictures to know what i am getting at, but fear not, you can see them by clicking the link below..!!
