Wedding Disco in The Barony Hall
Well Saturdays gig is all over now; it was in the Barony Hall in Glasgow. What a stunning venue it is, with a whole lot of money spent on it to keep it looking as authentic as possible. All the internal walls were that red stone that lights just don’t bounce off so my lights had to work hard for their money all night. I really felt sorry for the photographer, there was absolutely nothing to bounce a flash off of..
It was the 3rd September 2011 and the event was Kathleen & Ian Sneddon’s Wedding Reception. Access was through the back along an internal corridor, no stairs so everything was placed on the buggy and wheeled through right on to a massive stage, very easy.. Because I am using an ultimax stand on wheels I started building my rig just off the stage and wheeled it in to place when the hall staff turned the hall round, saved a lot of time.
The first dance was held just after 8.00pm “Bon Jovi – Thank You For Loving Me” and I announced the rest of the wedding party on to the floor half way through. I was free to play anything I wanted all night as the happy couple didn’t give much of a list, but from the very start there were always people on the floor dancing.
Were you there…??
If so why don’t you leave a message for Kathleen & Ian to read when they log in..?
