Wedding Disco at Bothwell Bridge Hotel
Mandy & Craig Donnelly said their wedding vows on the 29th July 2011 in the Bothwell Bridge Hotel in Glasgow, Lanarkshire. It was fantastic weather wise and I am sure there’s lots of video and photographs about to show it.
I was asked to supply the wedding reception disco in the large hall of the Bothwell Bridge Hotel and work with a band that were friends of groom. They were called “The Tenements”, a rocky indie type band that played the likes of “Oasis”, “The Killers” and “Stereophonics”. They played about 10 tracks and had the place jumping, the singer “Donald Martin” said that they normally don’t play at weddings, only for friends, but they had the crowd whipped up on the night just the same. They were great to deal with and I can recommend them if you want that style of music on your night.
I set up my DJ booth at the back of the stage in the morning so there was less to do in turning the hall round, there was just enough space for all of us and I allowed the band to use my PA to cut down on the kit on the stage on the night. It all worked out very well and the sound was great.
I announced the bride and groom on to the floor and the band started playing the first song “Snow Patrol – Chasing Cars” and after taking some pictures I asked the rest of the wedding party to join the bride and groom on the floor. Well they didn’t just get up, they jumped on to the floor… I knew then it was going to be a great night.
Once the band were done I prompted a thank you from the crowd and hit play… The band slowly got their kit out the hall dodging the dancers and left and I played request after request all night long to a packed floor. The venue staff asked me to shout last orders at 11.45pm and stop at midnight with Mandy & Craig’s choice to end the night “Oasis – Champagne Supernova” I wished the couple all the best and said goodnight.
Unfortunately there is no video this time… Sorry..!! I was stuck behind the band and couldn’t get out without disturbing them so I sat tight, and I was so far back the sound was only bass spill from the speakers..!! Hope you enjoy the photos though..
Were you there…?? If so why don’t you leave a message for the bride and groom to see when they get back from their honeymoon..?
See their photos here.
