Wedding Reception Disco in Lanarkshire

It had been 2 years since i last played at the Kincaid House Hotel.  It’s an old country house that has a beautiful garden and conservatory excellent for weddings.

Dawn and Ryan McAlindin’s wedding reception was held here on the 5th April 2013 and when i say it was full of friends and family it was no understatement.  The hall was full of guests and they told me there was another 80 to come….  I said where are they going..?  Great to be popular..!  The night started a bit slow waiting for Dawn and Ryan to tell me they were ready for their 1st dance, but late as it was it was worth waiting for.  The venue is a series of rooms rather than a hall so it’s hard to get an atmosphere for everyone, but i played music for the ones that stayed in the conservatory with me and as you will see in the photographs,they had a ball.

Wedding Reception Disco in Stirlingshire

It was the 31st March that Shonagh & Andrew Maak said their vows at the pictures Glenbervie House Hotel in Larbert in Stirlingshire.  With stunning gardens and beautiful scenery it’s a great find for any wedding.

The venue operate a quick turnaround, so once the meal is over it’s get in ASAP and set up where the top table was.  Shonagh & Andrew didn’t take too much to do with the music, well i was just told what they wanted for the 1st dance.

Wedding Reception in Dumfries

Seamus and Beverley O Dwyer celebrated their wedding in the Easterbrook halls in Dumfries on the 30th March 2013.  It was a smooth drive down and when I arrived they were just serving dinner.  I noted that there was two halls and that there was two weddings on at the same time, boy it was busy.!

I had met Beverly and her father last July so we knew each other and we had plenty of correspondence and chats on the phone, so we knew how the night was going to go.

The 1st dance got under way as soon as i was set up “Rule the world – Take that” and the wedding party were asked to join in half way through.  During the night we had cheese, rock pop and ceilidh too…  everyone had their shot on the dance floor and we ended with old blue eyes “Frank Sinatra – New York”

Wedding Disco at House For An Art Lover

Collette and Gavin Riggs celebrated their wedding at House for an art lover in Bellahouston Park in Glasgow on the 24th March 2013.

I must admit it was a bit drab and rainy on the day but that didn’t stop everyone drinking and having a great night on the dance floor.  Collette and Gavin had arranged a singer for their 1st dance and i played a backing track that was supplied.  After the formalities it was dance time.  I was supplied a reasonable list of songs that they liked and i worked out what would work together and made some great sets that filled the floor.  It was an 80s and 90s night bot we had a few Ceilidh tracks thrown in too and i called the dances and demonstrated where required.

Once again the night ended with Lock Lomond and everyone was up for the final dance of the night.

Laura & Stephen Farley’s Wedding was held at the Garfield House Hotel in Stepps, Glasgow on the 23rd March 2013.  I was pleased to have been booked to supply the entertainment on the night and everyone appeared to have  a great time time.. Well the dance floor was full..!!

The Garfield House is a we gem of a place..  John is very helpful and will guide you through your day making it as stress free as possible.  Once i arrive, we work great together making the transition from wedding breakfast to evening party as smooth as possible.

Jennifer & Craig Faskin celebrated their wedding at the Carnbooth House Hotel in Carmunnock Glasgow on the 16th March 2013.  It was held in the Marquee on the grounds of the house and it was full of family and friends.

Normally I will have a gallery of pictures and maybe a small video, but the client asked me not to put this on the internet so it’s just the one picture of the bride and groom this time.  Trust me when I say they had a great time on the night and sore feet with all the dancing.

I should be back to play in the Carnbooth house again soon, It’s a great venue with fantastic staff.  Well worth a look…!!

Wedding at the Cruin Bar & Restaurant Loch Lomond

The 15th March 2013 was the date set by Michelle and Charlie Cunning to get married, and Loch Lomond was firmly in their sight.  The wedding reception celebration was held at the Cruin Bar & Restaurant right on the back of Loch Lomond.  Truly spectacular views can be had on a clear bright day, and I’m sure the photographer made full advantage on the day.

I arrived early as usual and had a cup of tea in the lounge area while they were eating the wedding breakfast.  Thank you to the staff for that..!!  Once the meal was over it was time for the turn around, the set up was done as quickly as possible and everyone was invited through from the far lounge.  The bride and groom were announced on to the floor for the first dance and the party was well and truly on the way.

After about an hour everything went off…!!!!  OMG..!!  No electricity..??  Note to future entertainers do not use the bottom set of sockets.  I moved my plugs to the ones further up and the rest of the night went fine.

Once again all the very best to Michelle and Charlie, I hope you have a great future ahead of you..

Wedding Reception Disco in Glasgow

Sioned and Phil Steventon’s Wedding reception was held at the House for an Art Lover on the 2nd February 2013.

I had met Sioned and Phil at a client meeting in the venue a few months back and they asked to have a big input on the choice of music for their night and it was agreed.  I was given a two page list of tracks that they and their guests had compiled and I agreed that they were OK.  It was mainly Indie and light rock tracks, and I made sure that I had them for the night.

The House for an Art Lover is a Macintosh designed building, it has pictures, drawings and photographs on display for anyone that appreciates art, and it is a really popular wedding venue in Glasgow.

I arrived and set up in the corner and awaited the wedding party coming down stairs from the hall above where they were having the wedding breakfast.  Everyone eventually came down and it was time to get the party rolling..  I congratulated the happy couple and went over the formalities etc.  I asked it there was any songs not to play, and I was told No ABBA..! lol

All night long I was pestered by guests begging me to play an Abba track…  I was even offered ever increasing amounts of money to play one…!!  But Sioned said NO..!! and that was that..  The night was jumping, well it was the music they chose so I would have been upset if they weren’t on the floor, and to keep everyone else happy I played an Erasure version of an Abba track near the end.. !!  Well it wasn’t Abba…  LOL.

Birthday Party Upper Port Glasgow Social Club, Inverclyde, Renfrewshire

40th Birthday Party in Port Glasgow

Joan Hagan’s 40th Birthday Party was held at the Upper Port Glasgow Social Club on the 26th January 2013.

It was a fancy dress theme, and everybody took the opportunity to dress up and get involved.  It was a complete variety of costumes, from super hero’s to Mr Blobby..  It was a great night.  Music was mainly 80s, well you can never go wrong with them with the age group I had on the night..  And 2 people asked for cards wanting to book me for other family celebrations later in the year.

Wedding Hotel Du Vin, 1 Devonshire Gardens

Fiona and David McGinnigle’s wedding reception was held at the Hotel Du Vin in Glasgow on the 22nd December 2012.  I had supplied wedding entertainment for this family before, so they knew what to expect from me, and I knew some of them.

What a night.. in a good way…  I arrived to find they were running late.  How late..?  They were still taking the pictures….. Before the wedding breakfast..!!

Once they sat down to dinner I got my equipment in to the hallway and then chilled out on a seat.  The rain was pouring down so it was a chance to dry off..!!!  I met a group of guys that were also booked for the night.  They were opera singers that provided a service called “The Singing Waiters” and they were GREAT..!!  seriously..!!  I cannot recommend them highly enough.  They had everyone singing along in between the courses of the meal.. Absolute FAB…!!

OK… Meal out the way it was time to turn the room around for the evening reception.  I have entertained here lots of times and know the staff well, we always work together to get the hall set up as soon as possible.

Once set up, it was time to get the guests back in so that we could get the night on the way.  ladies and Gentlemen It’s time to welcome your Bride & Groom, Mr & Mrs Fiona and David McGinnigle…..!!  The party was now on the way and at this time of the year who you gonna call…??  Santa made an appearance…!!
